Would you like to serve on our board or sub-committees? Volunteering at an event is required prior to being considered for additional involvement.

Volunteer Role Descriptions

Family Pride Fest 11:30-2:30pm

  • It is helpful to have 1 – 2 additional volunteers at the Merch table. They can help promote merch, make sales and restock inventory. They can also provide the Merch Table Manager with a break. This role should be help by well know and trusted volunteers.

  • assist the lead in providing support to vendors and attendees.

  • Those assigned to the bounce houses will need to assure that youth attendees are following the guidelines as stated by the vendor. This includes limiting the number of children in/on the equipment at one time ensuring all children are wearing socks and that all children get turns. This position also supervises behavior while in/on the equipment to ensure safety.

  • The floater should walk around and check in with all vendors and volunteers. They should hand our water and to vendors and volunteers as needed. In addition they should provide breaks to volunteers as needed.

  • Set up volunteers arrive prior to the event to help set up tables, signage, merch and décor. Please note this position does require lifting and walking.

  • Tear-down volunteers are responsible for taking down flags, signs, tables, and merch and transporting the items back to the River District. This position does require lifting and walking.

  • Volunteers must be available the entire duration of the family pride event and have a current and valid certification. They will need to be accessible during the even to provide any minor aid when/if needed. First Aid supplies provided.

Teen Pride 1:30-3:30pm

  • It is helpful to have 1 – 2 additional volunteers at the Merch table. They can help promote merch, make sales and restock inventory. They can also provide the Merch Table Manager with a break. This role should be help by well know and trusted volunteers.

  • Set up volunteers arrive prior to the event to help set up tables, signage, merch and décor. Please note this position does require lifting and walking.

  • Tear-down volunteers are responsible for taking down flags, signs, tables, and merch and transporting the items back to the River District. This position does require lifting and walking.

  • Door attendants’ Welcome people to the event, and manage a waitlist if required. Attendants will also serve as basic security unless outside security is provided. Must be 21+

  • Tear-down volunteers are responsible for taking down flags, signs, tables, and merch and transporting the items back to the River District. This position does require lifting and walking.

  • Door attendants’ Welcome people to the event, and manage a waitlist if required. Attendants will also serve as basic security unless outside security is provided. Must be 21+

  • Assistants are devoted to the queen from the moment they arrive until their stuff is loaded after the show. This includes, loading and unloading, getting them settled into their space, getting them refreshments as needed, communicating next steps and timing, helping sort their tips if requested and any other thing that might come up behind the scenes.

  • 1 Tip manager should manage the cash box and exchange higher bills for singles for the tip collectors.

    2 – 3 individuals will be exchanging bills for singles for audience members.

    2 – 3 individuals will collect tips during the queens’ performances. Tips are taken to the queen and/or assistant immediately following each performance.
